Party Balloons

Its party time! And parties are never complete without balloons. Celebrations are expressions of joy and happiness and balloon decoration have always added spark to any occasion. Balloons are expressions of color and attraction.

Balloons as such serve two purposes, one for decorative and the other for scientific reason. Balloons are made from materials such as rubber, latex, polychlorophene or nylon fabric. For instance, Party balloons are made from natural substance such as latex from the rubber trees, and can be filled with air, water, helium or any other suitable gas or liquid. Volume can be adjusted due to the elasticity of the rubber. Mostly latex varieties are used for party purposes because of their wide spectrum of colors and shiny coat and different sizes that make them look very fanciful and impressive when used as decoration. Rubber balloons are much cheaper, opaque and are merely used for decoration and not as party highlighters.

Balloons can be filled with air either by mouth, manual or with the help of electrical inflators. Helium gas is used to inflate balloons, by doing this they begin to float.

However they don’t retain buoyancy for too long, as the small pores present in the balloon helps the gas to escape. In order to avoid this special gel like the polymer solution is used to coat the inside of the balloon to reduce leakage. Well that’s a lot to do to keep the balloons afloat, but the good news is that these are long lasting, and stretchable. Manufacturing of foil or mylar balloons dates back to the mid 70’s. These Party balloons come in different shapes, colors, patterns and have shiny reflective surfaces that help helium gas to be contained for several days over.

Shaping balloon into any given shape mostly animals are called Balloon Modeling or Balloon Twisting. These balloons are usually made of extra stretchy rubber, which helps the artists to inflate and twist them into desired shaped without bursting. These tubular balloons are generally difficult to inflate manually, so hand pump or electrical inflators are used to do so. Balloon sculpting are the latest trend and attraction for many events. Hundreds of helium balloons are used by decorators to make big arches and they are held together by ribbons with weights to hold them down. Round variety balloons are used to make simple arches, pillars and walls; although on great events more ambitious structures have been attempted.

Party decorators or event managers generally require supplies that are coordinating to the celebration. Personalized or custom made balloons decorations have always made the event attractive and not to mention, worth the money spent.
