Latex balloons

There are many varieties of balloons one can find in the market today. Balloons make any party or occasion magical and memorable. Buying the right kind of balloons as decoration is very important, because that adds spice to any event. Latex and foil or Mylar balloons are mostly used for any parties. An assorted set of latex and foil balloons is a great decoration idea. What exactly are latex balloons and how decorative can a party be made by these? Here are some advantages and disadvantages of latex balloons.

Latex balloons are naturally made, tapped from rubber trees. They can be filled with air, water, helium, or any other suitable gas or liquid. Earlier hydrogen gas was used to fill the balloons, but hydrogen being highly inflammable, usage was restricted only for scientific experiments. Since then helium gas was the best option as it is non-flammable, non-toxic and naturally found in the air. Helium gas is used in balloons to help them float. However they retain their buoyancy only for a few hours as the surface of latex balloon is porous and hence the balloon deflates faster. Colder temperatures help the helium gas to escape out from the balloons easily. However the good news is these balloons are inexpensive and come in different shapes and colors. They have a very glossy surface that makes them attractive to use as decorations. For longer party hours and to keep the balloons afloat foil or mylar balloons are a better option. On the budget front you can decide whether a complete set of latex or foil or a combination would be fit for the occasion. Foil balloons are easy to print and come in different themes, sizes, color, and shapes.

Latex balloons are more flexible in modeling and twisting them into desired shapes. In the case of foil balloons they come pre-printed and in different shapes. Buying them in bulk will help spacing the balloons in the party areas. Helium filled balloons over 17” and higher can help float the balloons for more than 24 hrs. This is a preferred high for the logos to be seen if at all printed on the balloons. There are different sizes of balloons available with the manufacturers. A bunch of smaller balloons (5”, 9”)with weight tied below are suitable for table decorations and bigger sizes (11”, 16”) are great to hang around the party area.

Latex balloons are biodegradable and do not harm the environment. Another upgraded version of these balloons are qua-latex balloons which is made from 100% natural latex and biodegradable and cost more or less the same as latex balloons. Enjoy guilt-free!!!!
