Start your coaching session by teaching the fundamentals of the game. Before you take your kind to tennis court, expose him/her to the fast paced game. This can be done by showing them some successful clips on television or make them to see live tennis matches on TV, or you can even take them to a professional tennis match. This exposure will surely help your children to understand the rules and regulations of the tennis games better.
You can even use some popular tennis video games to teach the basic concepts of tennis. There are wide varieties of tennis video games available in today’s market. Video games enable your child to get some idea on swinging, scoring, and timing of the ball. They serve as an ideal training tool to build a foundation for real tennis game.

Buy a pack of tennis balls and allow your kids to play with the balls, so that they will get used to the weight, bounce, and size of the ball. Then, buy a tennis racket from a sporting goods store, which will let them start learning to hit the ball with the racket. When they gain some control over the tennis ball, take them to a tennis court and allow them to hit around. This is the right time to teach the lines and serving zones to your child. Use the correct terms for all the areas on the tennis court while teaching.
It would be better if you use an automatic ball server, if not, you can serve a bunch of balls yourself. This will make them build endurance running around the tennis court. Your kids will be able to gain a lot of experience on returning balls. Make them to sign up for a youth league, so that they can learn and build skills by playing along with the fellow players.
Always be positive and encourage your child in each and every step. Make the learning process more fun and enjoyable. Tennis sport can be a great for your child’s future, or something he/she can do for recreation for his/her rest of life. Whatever the purpose may be, it is always beneficial to give the insight of tennis game from the childhood days itself.
